Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

I don't really have a lot to say here - I've told you before that I am terrible at making cookies, go figure. I know everyone thinks they are so easy - but honestly I can never quite tell if they're done and then I can't gauge how big to make them...these cookie bars, however, are perfect.

There is seriously nothing easier than digging in your pantry for ingredients I know you already have (otherwise why would you be on a food blog?) and dumping into a pan and calling it a day. And man, they disappeared QUICK. Hit of any party - guaranteed.

I always love to give shout-outs to my fave blogs - this one is from Pass the Sushi.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

2 1/8 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
12 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Dump everything in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Spray a baking pan with some nosticklowcalwatchamacallit spray. The original recipe said to bake it for 24 minutes, I found it was done (clean toothpick) at around 30 minutes.

  1. You got a chocolate chip cookie recipe from a sushi blog?!? Can I substitute sushi for another ingrediant in the recipe? Ha ha ha! :)

  2. You are so infectious. In a good way. :)
